Jimmy Pike is a native Houstonian presently living in Cypress Texas. Musical influences include Bob Dylan, Hank Williams, Del McCoury and Bill Monroe. He started playing guitar during college years. Originally discovering bluegrass music in the70's, he was reintroduced to it in the 90's. He Started playing mandolin in the 90's. Gene Carson of No Strings Attached Band has been a major influence in developing skills on the mandolin. Gene Carson and Ronnie McCoury are among his favorite mandolin players. Jimmy played guitar and mandolin with the Spring Branch Bluegrass Boys. He is married with one daughter and two dogs. Jimmy has served on the Bay Area Bluegrass Association Board of Directors.
