David Culbertson was born in Midland, Texas on September the 29th 1959. He grew up in the Houston Area and graduated Spring Branch High School in 1978. He now lives just south of Katy, Texas with his wife Sharon.
David has been in the information management industry for 25 years where he has served as President of Texas Shredding Company, Inc. until October of 2002 and also served as President of the industry’s trade group (NAID - The National Association for Information Destruction) from 2000-2002. It was during this time that the Enron scandal came to light. He has been interviewed by numerous news agencies including ABC World News Tonight, the Wall Street Journal and the Associated Press. He now serves as an Executive Vice President for Texas Security Shredding which serves customers in most major markets in Texas. The company is headquartered in West Houston and is a leader in the document destruction and records management consulting space.
David’s musical influences have been Traditional Country Music artist such as Merle Haggard, Buck Owens, George Jones, Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, George Strait and Alan Jackson. He has been influenced equally by many Bluegrass artists such as Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs, J.D. Crow & The New South, Ricky Skaggs, The Whites, Alison Krauss & Union Station as well as Blue Highway. He also loves traditional Christian Hymns and Psalms.
David’s personal interests include church, bible study, golf, bluegrass music and baseball. David plays guitar & mandolin and is pursuing songwriting.
